Studies on Leather Solid Waste-Polymer Composites for Acoustic Applications

Use of Leather solid and Polymer wastes for making composite panels for acoustic applications is the main adjective of this proposal. It comprises the selection of suitable manufacturing methods, optimization of processing parameters, characterization and validation. To produce alternative to the existing acoustic materials relatively at cheaper cost. To extend the prepared composite panels for major domains like -construction, transportation and machinery industries. To minimize the effect on environment from the Leather and Polymer waste disposal.

Studies on LSW reinforced thermosetting Polymer composites for high strength Structural applications

Development of leather solid waste polymer composites for various structural applications is the main aim of this proposal. The primary objective is to explore the possible ways to utilize leather solid waste (particularly Leather shaving and Buffing dust) in a possible maximum quantity in combination with thermosetting polymeric resins for high strength applications such as composites for temporary shelters, Pavement Floor Tiles, building and automobile structure.  In this project, composites will be prepared using suitable processing methods like simple hand layup technique and hot press molding method. It is also intended to see the possibility of fabrication of hybrid composites using Leather shaving/Buffing dust/Scrap leather and glass/carbon fiber as reinforcement and thermos
